Easy Flatbread Recipe
If you didn’t order or receive one of our bundles this week and therefore don’t have your hands on one of the delicious sourdough loaves that is included, have a go at making these super simple flatbreads instead! We covered ours with roast pumpkin and homemade pesto - YUM. These are also great as pizza bases or served with your favourite curry!
Makes 4 large flatbreads - no kneading required!
Ingredients
1 cup organic plain flour
1 cup organic wholemeal (spelt) flour
200ml warm water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons instant yeast
Method
- add yeast to water and let foam (3-5 minutes is enough)
- combine all other ingredients in a large bowl
- add wet mix to dry mix
- combine as much as possible with a spoon then gently use hands to bring it all together into a smooth ball
- leave in a warm place covered with a damp tea towel for at least half an hour to an hour, it should double in size
- cut dough into 4 pieces
- lightly dust surface with flour and roll into flat breads
- bake at 180°C for approx 12 minutes or until slightly golden
- top with all your favourites!
