Strawberry & Blueberry Chia Jam Recipe
This recipe couldn’t be easier and is REALLY yum. A good use of all of the cheap strawberries and blueberries we are so lucky to have in season at the moment.
Strawberry & Blueberry Chia Jam
500g (2 punnets) strawberries
125g (1 punnet) blueberries
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/3 cup organic maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Put all of the ingredients except the chia seeds into a saucepan over a high heat.
Cook for 15 minutes while stirring occasionally until everything has come together and is soft.
Mix in the chia seeds.
Spoon mixture into sterilised jars and place in fridge to cool and then enjoy!
Frozen Berry Chia Jam Recipe (no added sugar)
This is great for BLW and toddlers due to the lower sugar content.
Frozen Berry Chia Jam
2 cups of mixed frozen berries
4 tablespoons of chia seeds
1/2 to 1 cup of water (start with 1/2 and add more as needed)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Add all the ingredients to a saucepan over a medium heat and stir frequently until all the fruit has defrosted and it has come together to a jammy consistency. Adding more water as it cooks to create desired thickness.
You can add maple or honey to each meal alongside the jam if you like it sweeter.
Store in the fridge for 5 days.
