With Father's Day just around the corner and the mental load heavy enough on mums everywhere, we thought we would do some research and share our favourite ideas for Father's Day gifts this year. We looked at local businesses to support, a mix of ideas for the foodie dads, the active dads, the arty dads and the thirsty dads.
Loco Love - Lovers Box
A Whole Bowl favourite from way back, this is no ordinary box of chocolates! A dream for gift givers and a treat for artisanal chocolate enthusiasts. We’re calling it – these chocolates may just change your life. While you're there, add a Higher Being Tonic to your cart - you can thank us later...
It might be time dad starts looking at getting a nice art collection going. Check in with Jerico at
Jerico Comtempory for her latest exhibition catalogues or a gift voucher that he can use when he finds something he loves.
Cooking Class
Everyone got into trying new things in the kitchen during lockdown, now that we can leave the house, it's time to carry that on outside of our own kitchens! Here are a few great looking classes we found.
Westmont Pickles - Pickle Subscription
A box of all the favourites from the boys at Westmont, delivered every month. The Chilli Juice has come to live on our kitchen bench permanently and we always have a jar of the pickles going. Any dad is going to love having this box of goodies to make their way through each month. Check out the website for some other good gift ideas... bloody mary mix anyone?
Face Care, because kids give you wrinkles
A few of our favourites for the boys:
If you love a wine and haven't had the chance to try Unico Zelo's creations - now could be a good time! They are delicious and affordable, and are really great people, doing really great things whilst making really great wines!
There's not much cuter than a dad and his kid turning up to the beach or the BBQ matching!
Surfing or SUP Lessons
A good sport for the ageing dad to get into and something that if conquered he can teach the kids. Picture yourself, laying on the beach, under an umbrella, peacefully reading a book, while the rest of the family burns off all the energy surfing. There are plenty of schools up and down the coast, here are a few I came across:
Whatever your budget, whatever your energy levels, we hope that we have given you some inspiration for Father's Day this year. If all else fails, a crayon and a piece of paper can create absolute magic.
